#16: Can we be this Beautiful?
on being deliriously, self-convincingly, contagiously optimistic
Dearest,
Thank you for being here. I know not to judge the quality of my writing merely by the number of subscribers on this page, but every time someone hits subscribe, I feel like a mini firework show goes live within me; my biggest hugs to you for gifting me with this joy. (P.S. if you have not yet subscribed, you know what to do now, hit the button below!)
A couple of days ago, I stumbled upon a piece that I wrote 4 years back (titled ‘Things to look to for Hope’), a piece of writing that reminded me so strongly of how important it is to be an optimist, to keep staying hopeful, to keep continually anticipating the best possible outcome, to have such unflinching faith in the universe, that whatever it gives you, you know is just what is needed for you.
Have such high expectations from the universe for what it has in store for you this lifetime, have standards skyscraping-ly high, be so deliriously, self-convincingly, contagiously optimistic throughout your journey, that the universe has no other option than to live up to your standards or better, surpass it.
I think to be an optimist, to be a compulsive beauty finder, is to believe so thoroughly that you are deserving, that you are a beautiful being from within and out.
I also believe that to be able to recognise and appreciate the beauty of the world around us, we need to be able to recognise, cherish and nurture the beauty within us. I mean, one can only give from a vessel that’s full right? Plus its like the saying goes “Your outer world is a reflection of your inner world.”
With that thought in mind I wanted to write a poem to you all to reveal to you how beautiful you can be :)
Can we be this beautiful? Inhale. Exhale. let the air that parts your body no longer be the same again. let it reach the skies become a part of every star condense into clouds somewhere mid-air and drizzle down with the gentleness of early morning dewdrops let it touch the trees waft past the branches and caress their leaves like the palms of a lover embracing their beloved let it linger around nestle between lines of memoirs and diaries becoming a part of stories, of people and places like a letter lovingly tucked between worn-out pages let it be inhaled by someone else gaze upon the fragile mosaics of their mind where vulnerability waltzes in a corner as quiet as midnight snowfall let the most beautiful parts of your mind reach theirs place marigolds in their every nook birthing light, love and hope let it become the new fragrance of their soul now inhale and exhale. let the air that parts your body no longer be the same again. If just your breath can be this beautiful, dare I wonder how beautiful you, as a whole, must be.
I hope you keep homing beauty within your hearts. Stay tender my lovlies, I’ll write to you again next week.
With warmth and wonder,
Vaishnavi
